Winter Bike Maintenance Workshop

In February, Go Lloyd co-hosted a Winter Bike Maintenance Workshop with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT)’s Portland By Cycle program in the Lloyd Cycle Station. Instructors Timo and Rachel taught the class the “ABC Quick Check” (air in tires, brakes, chains/cogs), how to clean and lube your bike chain, and most importantly, how to fix a flat tire. We discussed the best ways to keep your bike clean and safe in wet and snowy winter weather. The second half of the class was hands-on practice. Some people worked on their own bikes, while others practiced on demo bike wheels. The instructors assisted each person, to ensure they were confident in the flat fix process. And Rachel showed us the difference in removing a bike wheel from an electric bike versus a standard bike. The class asked insightful questions, and everyone learned some highly valuable skills.

We’d like to thank everyone who attended the workshop for your enthusiasm and attention. We hope to see you our next event!
