GO LLOYD’S NEW FARESHARE PROGRAM
Our new program designed to incentivize transit use while supporting our small businesses in Lloyd.
-
Go Lloyd’s new FareShare program provides annual transit passes to employees of small businesses for a fraction of the cost of a regular monthly or annual pass. The pass consists of a personalized Hop card and allows the holder one year of unlimited trips on virtually all public transportation in the Portland metro area.
The program is available to any small business in Lloyd — a business employing 25 people or less.
-
Our FareShare program is available to any employer located in the Lloyd neighborhood who meets the small business requirement. Employers must be located within Lloyd’s boundary, and employ 25 people or less.
Not sure if your business is within Lloyd’s boundary. See Go Lloyd’s boundary map here.
-
Employers must purchase a pass for every employee who qualifies, regardless of whether they currently use transit or not. Our FareShare Hop Pass is designed to encourage use of public transportation by making it easy, convenient, and affordable. Putting a pass in every employee’s hand means at least some of them will give transit a try, even if they’ve never done so before.
-
Businesses pay for the passes up front. Employers may then choose to pass some or all of the cost on to their employees. This program aims to ease the cost burden of commuting for small business owners and their employees; to do so, a large portion of the cost will be paid for by Go Lloyd. Participating businesses must contribute 20% of the program cost of the passes, with a minimum payment of $250.
If any additional passes are added after the initial contract, the employer will have to pay a minimum of 20% of the cost of the pass.
-
Our FareShare program aims to alleviate costs for small businesses, so they can better use their resources to keep their business up and running. This program works differently than the Universal Pass Program by buying down the already reduced cost of Universal Pass. Go Lloyd will cover a majority of the cost of the program, and all we ask is that you contribute 20%, with a $250 minimum (If 20% of the program cost does not equal $250, you will need to pay $250 as the base minimum).
-
More employees taking transit to work means fewer employees driving. Fewer cars decrease congestion and leave more space for your customers, clients, and visitors. In addition, offering Universal Hop Pass as a benefit can help recruit and retain employees, while allowing employees to pay for their pass through pre-tax deductions can reduce your payroll taxes.
-
The first step is distributing a survey to your qualified employees (we can help determine who qualifies). The 5-minute survey will ask about employee's’ current commuting habits.
After we receive the survey results, we will analyze them and send you a summary report. Your business/agency will enter into an agreement with Go Lloyd and TriMet to purchase the determined number of passes. As stated previously, you will be responsible for up to 20% (at least $250) of the contract cost, and Go Lloyd will cover the remaining balance. Once the passes have been purchased, we’ll deliver your personalized Hop passes for distribution to your employees?
