Riding your bike should be joyful, affirming, and a great way to get around town or exercise. It should not be a source of pain. Assuring not only that you have the right size bike, but that it fits to your unique body may bring new levels of happiness to your daily ride.
Join Mollie Futterman from Gladys Bikes for a brief presentation and discussion on bike fit.
Why is bike fit important?

In partnership with The Street Trust, there will be an Oregon Friendly Driver Class held during lunch in the 3rd floor conference room of the Lloyd 700 Building.
The Oregon Friendly Driver program is a free 90-minute interactive class aimed at educating all drivers on the best and safest ways to share the road with people getting around on foot or by bike. These classes are taught by The Street Trust’s education staff and organized in partnership with Commute Options and the Lane Council of Governments. This class is based on the Bicycle Friendly Driver program developed by FC Bikes in collaboration with Bike Fort Collins.
The Oregon Friendly Driver class addresses:
• Why sharing the road is the safest alternative for both motorists and bicyclists
• What’s legal and what’s not legal for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians
• Common crashes and how to avoid them
• Why bicyclists “take the lane” and what motorists should do in response
• How to navigate bicycle and pedestrian related infrastructure such as: sharrows, bike boxes, green lanes, and rapid flashing beacons
Fenders make riding a breeze in the rainy Portland fall and winter. They protect your feet from falling rain, road slush, and oily spray, while your bike and accessories stay clean. This fall, get discounted fenders installed for free, thanks to Go Lloyd!
Each fender style ranges in size. You’ll need to know your wheel size, such as 26 inch or 700c, and the width of your tire to make sure the fenders are compatible. To find your tire size, look for two numbers on the sidewall of the tire (700 x 28, 26 x 1.5).
If your bike frame isn’t built to mount fenders, clip-on fenders will be your best option.
Need help on deciding which fenders are right for you? We can help! Go Lloyd and Left Coast Bicycles will provide free fender consultations on October 9th. Stop by the Lloyd Cycle Station from 9 am-5 pm or the Lloyd Farmers Market from 11 am-1 pm for a consultation. We’ll order discounted fenders for you, and help you schedule an appointment to have them installed for free.
Order your fenders by October 12th for free installation. Installation day is November 6th from 11 am-2 pm. Please pay for your fender order at Go Lloyd’s Transportation Store by November 5th.
The Lloyd Cycle Station is located on level P2 of the Lloyd 700 Building at 700 NE Multnomah St.
The Lloyd Farmers Market is located at Oregon Square just south of NE Holladay St between NE 7th Ave and NE 9th Ave.
Know your rights and responsibilities on the road while bicycling. Bring your lunch and join us for a legal clinic by Thomas, Coon, Newton & Frost that covers Oregon bicycle and pedestrian laws, insurance information, and what to do if you’re in a crash.
