Many of you participated as committee members with the City of Portland and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) in the original N/NE Quadrant and I-5 Broadway/Weidler Facility Plans (https://www.portlandoregon.gov/bps/article/415777). Input from this 30‐member Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) brought broad‐ranging perspectives in the study area to advise the partner agencies at each step of the process. The SAC, which included members representing neighborhood, business, bicycle, pedestrian, transit, freight, rail, event facility and property owner interests, was one of the primary means of ensuring that the public had multiple opportunities to provide meaningful input into the planning process. The I-5 Broadway/Weidler Facility Plan was adopted by the City of Portland and the Oregon Transportation Commission in 2012.
ODOT and the city of Portland are now moving forward with more detailed feasibility analyses of plan recommendations including potential land bridge lids over I-5 at Hancock and Broadway/Weidler, relocated ramps to and from I-5, and a bicycle/pedestrian crossing at Clackamas Street.
At the briefing, the project team will:
· Review the recommended concepts included in the I-5 Broadway/Weidler Interchange Improvement Facility Plan
· Discuss existing efforts to explore the feasibility of recommendations and the timeline to do so
· Answer questions about existing efforts and potential next steps
Following the briefing, participants can join project team members to view area maps and discuss issues relating to specific properties or issues.
